2000 yılından beri Kocaeli Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Çocuk ve Ergen Ruh Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalın'da çalışan Prof. Dr. Nursu Çakın Memik 7 Eylül 1975 tarihinde Almanya'da doğmuştur.
Tıp fakültesinden önceki eğitimini Almanya ve İzmir'de tamamlamıştır. Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nden 1999 yılında mezun olmuştur.
Çocuk ve Ergen Ruh Sağlığı ve Hastalıkları uzmanlık eğitimini Kocaeli Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi'nde tamamladıktan sonra Almanya'da Klinikum Aschaffenburg Akademisches Lehrkrankenhaus der Üniversität Würzburg'da üç ay gözlemci olarak çalışmıştır.
2005 yılında uzman hekim olmuş, 2012 yılında ise doçentlik unvanını almıştır. Evli ve bir kız çocuk annesidir.
